Moms of Erie Niagara AHEC’s Birth Equity Project Welcome 4 New Babies!

Erie Niagara AHEC is proud to announce three moms in the program have gone through successful birth processes and welcomed four new little ones. We would like to offer a special congratulations to Amber with the birth of her twin boys, Legend and Legacy, Destanee with the birth of her son, Dallas, and Tania with the birth of her daughter, Oaklynn!

We are also happy to announce the upcoming births of two more moms whose babies are expected in early January! As we move into the new year, we are excited to work with our next cohort of moms.

The 12 training doulas have quickly progressed through the supplemental trainings and other program requirements. We want to offer them a great thank you for their commitment towards creating safe and empowering pregnancies and birthing experiences for all women. The doulas are well on their way to becoming Medicaid-eligible providers and have gained all the tools necessary to reach this achievement very soon. We are excited to be able to connect these doulas to moms in our program in the near future!

If you are a Medicaid-eligible Black or Brown mother in Erie County and you would like to be connected with a doula to help you through your prenatal, labor and delivery, and postpartum journey at no cost, apply here!
