Let's Celebrate Black Mamas!

Black Maternal Health Week '24 April 11th - 17th

Black Maternal Health Week is recognized each year to bring awareness and a call for action to improve Black maternal health. Everyone can play a role in working towards preventing pregnancy related deaths, either big or small. This year, Erie Niagara AHEC's Birth Equity Project is celebrating Black Maternal Health Week (April 11th - April 17th) through a series of efforts.

Throughout the week be sure to check out our daily Instagram post highlighting the various resources for expecting women. AHEC will also be hosting a virtual Maternal Mental Health Webinar on April 17th at 1 pm. We will be highlighting reproductive justice, health & wellness, community resources, doulas, and maternal mental health to spread awareness of Black maternal health inequities and inspire change in the community. Erie Niagara AHEC is proud to partake in the movement to amplify the voices of Black mamas and center the values and traditions of reproductive and birth justice movements.

We hope you are too! Please join us using the link below to register for an amazing discussion.
